Practice
Craig S. Gumpel’s practice includes labor and employment law. He was a Contributing Editor for the Developing Labor Law, 3rd Edition, 1992. Mr. Gumpel’s experience includes:
Craig S. Gumpel is the Managing Partner for Fox and Fox LLP. His legal practice is primarily focused on public sector labor and employment law where he represents public safety personnel, as well as state, county, blue and white collar workers on a wide range of legal issues. He has negotiated hundreds of collective bargaining agreements in both the public and private sector.
Mr. Gumpel has presented seminars on collective bargaining, workers compensation, grievance and arbitration handling, and leaves of absence under federal and state law. He has appeared as a guest speaker for NJICLE and New Jersey Public Employment Relations Commission. He has practiced before numerous state and federal administrative agencies including the New Jersey Office of Administrative Law, New Jersey Civil Service Commission, Public Employment Relations Commission, Police and Firemen’s Retirement System, Teachers’ Pension and Annuity Fund, Public Employees’ Retirement System and the National Labor Relations Board on behalf of individual and institutional clients in such matters as collective bargaining negotiations, grievance and interest arbitration proceedings, unfair labor practices, employment discrimination litigation, and civil service appeals. Mr. Gumpel’s practice also includes proceedings in state and federal trial courts and appellate tribunals.
Before entering the practice of law, Mr. Gumpel attended Brooklyn Law School where he worked as a Legal Intern for then Justice Harold Baer, Jr., N.Y. State Supreme Court, New York County.
