Ms. Katz is Of Counsel with Fox and Fox LLP. Her practice is primarily focused on public sector labor and employment law. Ms. Katz has a long history of representation of union members, including nine years as the elected President of the Communications Workers of America, Local 1034. Ms. Katz served as a Commissioner of the New Jersey Public Employment Relations Commission from 2002 to 2006.
Issues critical to women, children and working families have been a priority in her work. She has organized thousands of new workers into unions and spearheaded legislation over a decade to achieve Paid Family Leave in New Jersey, which was enacted in 2009.
Ms. Katz also writes and lectures on politics, power and issues that affect working women and men. She has taught and lectured widely including many years of academic courses at Rutgers University in Public Sector Collective Bargaining, Women and Work, Union Organizing, Occupational Safety and Health, and has lectured at the Institute for Women's Policy Research in Washington D.C. and on panels and at conferences across the country. Currently, Ms. Katz is a columnist for the Star Ledger at www.njvoices.com and for the state's largest political website Polickernj.com at www.politickernj.com and makes radio appearances as a talk show host on NJ 101.5 FM and CBS 1210 AM. She is also an expert on the innovative video-based website www.bigthink.com.
